Lancer Leapers lead the way at SWOSSA

Eighteen LCCVI students will be heading to OFSSA Track and Field Regionals next weekend in Hespler.
The high jumpers once again led the way with Justin Porteous claiming gold in Sr. Men’s High Jump with a leap of 1.85m. Tori Smith won silver with a jump of 1.46m in the Sr. Women’s High Jump. Jayln Jackson won silver with a jump of 1.41 m in Midget High Jump, and Luke Lalonde placed third with a jump of 1.58m in Midget High Jump, Jeff Power also advances with a jump of 1.48m and a seventh place finish in Midget High Jump.
The throwing athletes also did well with Zarah Rogan taking gold in Shot Put with a hurl of 27.09m. Megan Jaques placed third in Midget Shot Put with a throw of 10.19 m.
In other events
- Ellen Sawyer placed second in the 80 m hurdles, third in the 300 m hurdles, sixth in the 80 m hurdles
- Carson Peer placed third in the Junior 400 m with a time of 53.55 and seventh in Jr. Men’s Long Jump with a leap of 5.47m
- LCCVI’s Jr. Women’s relay team advanced after winning bronze with a time of 53.20 in the 4×100.
- Emma Patchett placed third in the 3000m and eighth in the 1500m to advance.
- Victor Tang, third Midget 300 m hurdles
- Arianna Siegrist placed third in the Women’s 100m Dash Intellectual
- Ty Moffatt fourth in Midget 100 m hurdles, sixth Midget 300 m hurdles
- Eric Thomson placed sixth in Sr. Men’s Javelin with a throw of 40.52m
- Trinity Morningstar seventh 300 meter hurdles
- Lucas Rody placed eighth in the 3000m in the Junior division to move on
- Grace Lucier advances in Midget Long Jump with a leap of 4.38 for seventh place.
