Two additional deaths in Lambton from COVID-19

Lambton Public Health is reporting two more people have died of COVID-19.
Statistics released Tuesday show 44 people have now died of the virus in the community.
Public Health officials say one person in their 60s died Feb. 4, the second, in their 80s died Feb. 7. Both died in hospital.
There was only one new case reported; it was at the Sarnia Jail where a corrections worker is now listed as one of three people testing positive for COVID-19 in an outbreak there.
There are eight outbreaks in Lambton right now including five at long term care homes where nine people have died since December, two workplace outbreaks with a total of nine people infected and the outbreak at the Sarnia Jail.
Ontario is reporting 1,022 new COVID-19 cases today. There are 17 new deaths, bringing the total to 6,555 since the pandemic began.
