Premier promises to ban public use of drugs, allow police to remove encampments
The show will go on at Victoria Playhouse Petrolia Sept. 7
August 3, 2021
There will be life at the Victoria Playhouse this year after all.
“Songs We Love” will debut Sept. 7 and run until Oct. 3. The musical will be both a throwback with songs from popular productions from the past decade and include previews of shows coming in 2022.
“This is a homecoming for our patrons, as much as it is for the artists, crew and creative team,” says David Hogan, co-artistic director. “It is the reunion we have all been so anxiously waiting to celebrate.”
It will be the first show at the playhouse since the COVID pandemic hit.
Alex Baerg, Michael Vanhevel and Jennifer Walls are the stars of the show while Mark Payne will accompany on piano.
COVID protocols will cap the audience at 150: 100 on the main level and 50 up in the balcony. Guests will receive a specific time to arrive and take their seats.
The playhouse also made the decision to move its six show lineup to next year. “The Roaring Twenties, On Golden Pond, Dynamic Duos, The Power of Song 2: Divine Women, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and Wingfield: Lost & Found” will all be seen in 2022. Ticket holders will be contacted soon to confirm new dates and seating.
Holiday performances for this year are also in the works.
