Three more Lambton residents die of COVID-19

Three people have died from COVID-19 in Lambton.

That’s according to information from Lambton Public Health released this morning which says 83 people have now died of the virus in Lambton since the pandemic began in March 2020.

Lambton, like the rest of the province, is seeing a surge in the virus. Another 26 people tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, with 497 people ill right now with 29 people recovering.

Meantime, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health is holding a news conference this afternoon. It’s expected he’ll announce changes to the way COVID-19 testing and tracing. Public Health Ontario says right now, with more people becoming ill and not enough testing available, the data being released by the province is likely far lower than the actual number of people becoming ill with COVID-19.

Ontario is reporting 8,825 new cases of COVID-19 and 491 people hospitalized. Of those people 187 are in ICU due to COVID-19.
