Snow squall warning tonight for Eastern Lambton, Watford
January 10, 2022
Up to 20 cm possible
From Environment Canada:
Warnings
4:19 PM EST Monday 10 January 2022
Snow squall warning in effect for:
- Watford – Pinery Park – Eastern Lambton County
Snow squalls moving in from the north this evening
Hazards:
Lake effect snow, with snowfall rates of 15 to 20 cm over 12 hours possible.
Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Snow covered and icy roads.
When:
This evening into Tuesday morning.
Discussion:
Snow squalls over Lake Huron are expected to migrate south into the region this evening. These snow squalls are expected to taper off to scattered flurries Tuesday morning as the winds diminish..
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
