Vote on a tentative deal at Enbridge’s Dawn Hub expected Monday
June 11, 2022
Striking workers at Enbridge have a tentative contract.
That’s according to workers holding a Family Day at the Dawn Hub Saturday.
About 100 members of Unifor Local 999 have been on strike since May 25. Union leaders say the highly skilled workers who monitor and direct the movement of natural gas across North America don’t have wage parity with others doing the same job. The company was offering the same wage increase other union members had accepted. Unifor said wages would not keep up with inflation under the new deal.
On the picket line Saturday morning, members said Enbridge and Unifor met Friday for negotiations and a vote on a tentative contract is set for the workers across the province Monday.

Union negotiators were not immediately available to comment.
Local representative Stacey Renaud had voiced concern about the people running the operation during the strike saying managers were staying on site for days at a time directing unskilled workers to do the jobs normally done by the Unifor members.
Enbridge said at the time that the safety of the system was their top priority and that the Dawn site was being overseen by those with experience in the area.
