Petrolia Fair opens tonight

September 9, 2022

Annianna Rowe will be one of many people busy this weekend as the Petrolia/Enniskillen Fall Fair kicks off tonight.

Rowe was named the fair ambassador recently and says she’s looking forward to serving the community. Rowe has always looked up to the Fair Ambassador and says it is a honour to “be able to represent not only the town but the amazing community I was raised in.”

Exhibits poured into the Greenwood Recreation Centre Thursday and Friday morning ahead of the opening ceremonies at 7 pm. There is also a tractor pull which starts at 6 pm.

This year, the agricultural society could not secure a midway company so there will be inflatables and bounce castles for the youngest fairgoers.

Saturday is packed with events including the heavy horse show at 10 am, a parade at 11 which winds its way through the downtown, 4H competitions and a comedy show at night.

Sunday, the antique tractor pull starts at 11 am and the demolition derby begins at 1 pm.
