Alvinston’s Redick wins silver at provincial softball tourney

Sydney Redick and her Durham Lord teammates from Oshawa took second place at the OCAA women’s softball tournament in London on the weekend. Durham lost 4-0 to Windsor-St. Clair in the championship game. Redick went four innings of three-hit ball against the heavily favoured and unbeaten Saints. She only allowed two earned runs.
Over the course of the weekend, the Alvinston product went six-for-14 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and three RBI.
Meantime, Fanshawe with Watford’s Jenna McLean on its roster went 1-2 and was eliminated by Humber. McLean had two hits in three games for the Falcons.
