Petrolia, WM give out $15K in green grants

Hours left before municipal/trustee polls in Ontario close
October 24, 2022
There are just a few hours left for you to have your say on your municipal council.
Across Ontario, people are voting for their members of council and local school boards until 8 pm. Some municipalities, including Petrolia and Warwick, have chosen online voting and the ballots have been coming in since Oct. 14.
In Petrolia, by 1 pm, officials said about 37 per cent of eligible voters had cast a ballot.
In Petrolia, Warwick, St. Clair, Brooke-Alvinston and Plympton-Wyoming, there are elections for both municipal council and some school board trustees.
The councils of Enniskillen, Dawn-Euphemia and Oil Springs were acclaimed, although school trustee elections continue.
If you wish to vote, but have not received a voter card or information packet, you can still contact your local municipalities until the polls close at 8 pm.
The Independent will be providing updates here throughout the evening and will have full coverage of the local elections in the Oct. 27th print edition.
