Armitage has game winning goal in Flyer victory

Peyton Armitage’s powerplay goal at 14:23 of the third period proved to be the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win by the Petrolia Flyers over the Lucan Irish Thursday night before a season-high crowd of 412 fans at Greenwood.
Colby Ackworth had the other Petrolia goal and Elijah Grant made 26 saves.
The Flyers have won two straight and are now 4-11-2 on the season and just two points behind Port Stanley for seventh place in the PJHL’s Yeck Division.
Petrolia is off for the remainder of the weekend. Their next games are next Saturday and Sunday in Port Stanley and Aylmer respectively.
