Highway 402 still closed; high winds expected to continue tonight

The 401 and 402 still closed at 730 am. Extensive closures on the 401.

Lambton County is still warning of travel saying weather conditions make it difficult to keep the roads clear. The OPP is advising people not to drive until conditions improve.

Environment Canada still has a weather advisory up for high winds of up to 70km/hr.

In Petrolia, the weather has again interrupted waste collection; Waste Management says it cannot complete the route Saturday and will attempt it again Monday.

In Dawn-Euphemia, the township’s landfill has been closed.

And all Lambton County facilities, including museums and the art gallery, are closed today.

  • Traffic which normally would use Highway 402 moves slowly down London Line near Reece's Corners
  • Entrances to the 402 at Oil Heritage Road remain closed at 2 pm.
  • Large snowdrifts curl over the Reece's Corners to Wyoming Trail along Oil Heritage Road Saturday.
  • Snow along Oil Heritage Line south of Wyoming.
  • Blowing snow piles up on a pickup truck on London Line near Reece's Corners.
