LCCVI’s Senior Boys basketball team has bowed out of the playoffs.

The Great Lakes Wolfpack used balanced scoring to beat LCCVI, 61-25 in one semifinal Wednesday.

Tyler Kirby had eight points for the Lancers. Jack Robinson and Connor Brydges had four points each.

Kaden Burnham led GLSS with 10 points against the Lancers while Seth Ainsworth, Noah Lester and Owen Wellington all contributed eight points each.

Great Lakes will be home to Chatham’s John McGregor Panthers for the LKSSAA senior boys’ AA basketball trophy Saturday.

In junior semifinal action Wednesday, Wallaceburg downed LCCVI, 52-30 and John McGregor beat Great Lakes, 54-42 despite a 27-point game by Cole MacAlpine for the Wolfpack.

The Lambton Public Health announced Friday an investigation into Avian influenza in a poultry flock in Lambton County. Avian flu detected in Lambton poultry operation

The Independent Lambton Public Health officials say there has been a confirmed report of Avian influenza in a poultry flock. In a news release, officials said the Ontario Ministry of Health and Agriculture as well as the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating the situation.
