Bank robbery in Arkona

A bank in Arkona has been robbed.

Around 5:30 pm Tuesday, Lambton OPP police were called to the Libro Credit Union branch on Arkona Road. Three OPP Cruisers and one Anishinabek Police Services cruiser from Kettle & Stony Point and OPP detectives are on the scene now.

Details of what happened are still scant but it appears no one was injured in the incident. Victims Services workers are on the scene.

A description of the suspect hasn’t been made available yet however sources say the person involved may have made off with some of the staff’s cellphones.
