New league, new coach for Petrolia Squires
August 11, 2023
The Petrolia Squires will begin play in a new league this season and will have a new head coach behind the bench when they debut in the Western Ontario Super Hockey League.
Brad Wright replaces Craig Prudhom.
Wright previously coached the Squires from 2014-17 leading the club to the Western Ontario Athletic Association league finals in 2017.
He had a winning percentage of .625 with a record of 41-24-3.
Petrolia was 12-8 last season and was swept in the first round of the playoffs by Ripley.
“Brad is excited to get going this season and show the new league what Squires hockey is all about,” said the team in a social media post Monday.
