Lancer swimmers win SWOSSA gold

LCCVI’s Darius Landon won three individual events at the SWOSSA Swimming Championship in Windsor on Tuesday.

He captured the 50 metre freestyle by just under two seconds in a time of 24.90 seconds and won the 100 metre freestyle by about three seconds in a time of 57.29 seconds.  He also touched first in the 100 metre Individual Medley by more than seven seconds.  His winning time was 1:04.28.

Lancer teammate Yarko Zelenhut also won the 50 metre breaststroke by a whisker in a time of 38.25 seconds.

Landon and Zelenhut along with Hunter Kedwell and Hayden Young also qualified in the boys’ 200 metre freestyle relay.

Danielle McKay, Jane VanDamme, Elsie Wellington and Marnie Sawyer qualified for LCCVI in the girls’ 200 metre freestyle relay.

OPP Cruiser damaged in Dawn-Euphemia crash: one arrested
