Fraud pilot project in Lambton saves $160,000 in six months

Cattlebarons win Senior baseball crown

Wyoming pushed across five runs in the fifth inning and went on to beat Port Lambton, 9-2 in the Western Counties senior baseball championship tournament on the weekend in Courtright and Port Lambton.
The Cattlebarons (below) went 4-0 over the course of the tournament. They beat Chatham and Corunna in the preliminary round and then topped Dresden, 13-3 in the semifinals. The Pirates advanced with a 4-1 victory over Petrolia in the semis.
In the title game, Dylan Lee had a two-run double and Warren Boersma drove in a pair with single in the decisive inning. He also had a two-run triple in the sixth inning.
Boersma, Braeden Nickles, Cameron Hackett and Christian Huack each had two hits for power Wyoming’s 10-hit attack. Jason Eberlin stole two bases for the Barons.
Brett Miskokoman and Austyn Green had early RBI for the Pirates. Austin McCready had two hits.
Craig Steadman was the winning pitcher for Wyoming in relief of Corey Saunders. Curtis McCallum took the loss for Port Lambton.
The Cattlearons are now preparing to host the OBA Senior AA tournament on the weekend of August 23 with games in both Wyoming and Petrolia.
The Raiders and Dresden will represent the area at the OBA C championship in Port Hope the same weekend.
