LCCVI students hit top ten at Nationals

James Grant had a pair of top ten finishes at the Canadian National Legion Track and Field Championship in Calgary on the weekend.
The middle distance runner from Petrolia, representing the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Club, just missed a medal finishing fourth in the under-18 1500 metre final in a time of 4:02.11. He also placed tenth in the 800 metre final in 1:57.38.
Meantime, Petrolia’s Hunter Campbell, representing Team Ontario at the nationals, also notched a pair of top ten finishes. He was seventh in the hammer throw with a personal best of 51.86 and tenth in the discus at 44.93 metre. Campbell also competed in the shot put and placed 16th with a put of 12.84 metres.
