‘We send a representative to the SCRCA to represent the community’

Heat warning in effect
August 26, 2024
Environment and Climate Change Canada is issuing a Heat Warning for Lambton
County.
Heat warnings are issued when two or more consecutive days of daytime maximum
temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or warmer and nighttime minimum temperatures
are expected to sit at 20°C or warmer or when two or more consecutive days of humidex
values are expected to reach 40°C or higher.
In high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.
The warning will remain in effect possibly until Wednesday when conditions are expected to
ease.
If you need a cool place to go, all local libraries are considered cooling centres. In Petrolia, the Y is also a cooling centre as are the community arenas in Lambton Shores, the Moore Sports Complex in St. Clair and the East Lambton Community Centre in Watford.
