Oilers repeat as Silver Stick champs

For the second year in a row, the Petrolia Oilers are Petrolia U18B Silver Stick Champions.

The team beat Lambton Shores 3-2 to claim the title in their home tournament Monday.

Lucas Johnson opened the scoring for the Oilers with Nathan Reidhead scoring the 2-1 go-ahead goal.

Then, after Jack Rombouts of the Predators tied up the game at two, Roen Douglas scored the game winner for Petrolia with just 3:25 left in the third.

Sean Van Gorp scored Lambton Shores other goal of the tournament.

Petrolia advanced to the finals with a 3-2 win over Mooretown in a raucous game Sunday night.

Reidhead scored the game winner in that matchup. Johnson and Jacksen Manuik also had goals Sunday.

The Petrolia Oilers now head to the Forest Silver Stick Finals Jan. 10.
