PHOTO GALLERY: No one injured in Petrolia industrial fire

January 8, 2025

Firefighters from Petrolia, Plympton-Wyoming and St Clair Township are battling an industrial blaze on Centre Street

A large drive shed at the back of the Concrete Systems property caught fire just before 2 pm Wednesday afternoon.

Tim Williams, education officer for the Petrolia/North Enniskillen Fire Department, says there were people working inside the building when the fire started. All got out safely.

About 50 firefighters worked to control the fire. St Clair Fire arrived on scene with a second ladder truck to join Petrolia Tower 13 to attack the fire from above.

As darkness came, the roof of the building has collapsed and a backhoe is heading in to knock some of the building down so firefighters can get at the hot spots.

Smoke and steam from the fire has been drifting south over Petrolia as firefighters work to put out the blaze.

Right now, officials are not saying what caused the fire.

Firefighters could be seen working at the industrial fire on Centre Street in Petrolia from Tank Street.
