Lambton Warden Kevin Marriott has been honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

The Coronation Medal commemorates the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and honours Canadians who have made a significant contribution to Canada.

Marriott was one of 10 people honoured by Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu Feb. 12 but he was unable to attended the ceremony. Instead, Gladu presented Marriott with the medal at the March 5 county council meeting.

Marriott, who is also the mayor of Enniskillen Township was honoured for his 30 years on township council, including seven years as deputy mayor and 13 years as mayor. Gladu also noted he is now the longest-serving warden in Lambton’s history.

His service in farm organizations, including the Grain Farmers of Ontario was also cited as some of his service to the community.

Valerie Colasanti, from Lambton County’s social services division, Myles Vanni from the Inn of the Good Shepherd, Julie Craddock, the former deputy chief of Sarnia Police, Michelle Holbrook, of Rebound, Heather Martin of Vision Nursing Home, Michael John Kooy, who served with the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce, Vicky Praill of Tourism Sarnia Lambton, Brian Mundt an activist for public housing and Shauna Carr of Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership were also honoured.
