Port Lambton garage fire causes $100K in damage

May 5, 2025

St. Clair Fire Chief Richard Boyes says about $100,000 damage was done during a garage fire in Port Lambton.

About 40 firefighters from Port Lambton, Beecher, Brigden and Courtright were called to the Old River Road Saturday night.

Boyes says new home construction requires fire-rated drywall in the garage. That, coupled with a quick response by the fire department, confined most of the damage to the empty garage.

A vehicle in the driveway had some heat damage and the house sustained some water and smoke damage, which Boyes says can be remediated.

No one was injured in the fire.
