Killer Bees blank Strathroy in Senior hockey exhibition play

The Alvinston Killer Bees scored three times in the final six minutes of the first period to break a scoreless tie on their way to a 9-0 win over Strathroy in Northern Premier Hockey League preseason action before 300 fans in Glencoe on Saturday night.

Brandon Couto and Harlan Orr each scored for twice for the Bees who had 13 players register at least one point in the game. Cameron Krupa, Robert MacLean, Kyle Brothers, Josh Jamieson and Connor Lovie also scored for the Bees. Jacob Chantler and Kraig Wright each had three assists.

Dane Gubbels and Joseph Raaymakers shared the 29-shot shutout.

Alvinston opens the regular season against the Bluebirds in Tilbury Saturday at 7:30 pm.

The Bees’ home opener is on Oct. 11.
