Petrolia Flyers 2-2; take on Port Stanley Thursday

The defending Yeck Division champions will take a 2-2 record into a home game Thursday with the Port Stanley Sailors. Home ice has been sweet for the Flyers with a 2-0 record. The team is 0-2 on the road.

Sept. 25, before a home crowd of 284 fans, Andrew Jaques had two goals and Noel Anderson had a goal and two assists to lead the Flyers to an 8-3 win over Lucan.

Ty Moffatt, Joey Hayter, Isaac Truman and Casey Guerrette each had a goal and a helper. Dylan Campbell had the other Petrolia goal. Miller Mailloux and Parker Davidson each had two assists.

Tyler Strain made his Flyers debut between the pipes and stopped 16 shots.

A night later in Exeter, Hayter was the lone goal scorer in a 5-1 loss to the Hawks.

Exeter scored twice in the second frame and took a 2-0 lead into the dressing room.

Following an unsuccessful penalty shot by Tobias Iantorno of the Flyers, Exeter increased its lead to 3-0 in the third only for to Hayter cut the gap to 3-1 with his goal at 12:11 of the final frame. The Hawks iced the game with a pair of late power play goals.

Former Hawk Strain took the loss with 29 stops. The Flyers outshot the home team, 41-34.
