Killer Bees win first NPL game

Brandon Couto scored twice – including the first ever goal by Alvinston in the Northern Premier League – and James MacEwan had four assists to lead the Killer Bees to a 5-2 win over the Bluebirds in Tilbury.
Couto, who also had an assist, was named player of the game.
Jack Vanboekel, Brennan Feasey and Harlan Orr also scored for Alvinston who put the game away with four straight goals in the second period.
Joseph Raaymakers was the winning goaltender with 42 saves as the Bees outshot the Birds, 47-44.
Alvinston visits the Lakers in Woodstock Saturday.
The Bees’ home opener is against Halton Hills is Oct. 11 at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex. Game time is 6:45.
