The Alvinston Optimists are being given a big hand by the organizers of the Tanner Redick Memorial Two Pitch Tournament.
The August event commemorating the young firefighter raised over $61,000 this year.
Recently, members of the committee, including Redick’s mother Jenny, presented the Optimist with a $32,000 for the work they do in the community with youth.
The committee also provided $8,000 to Brooke Fire Rescue and $10,000 to Alvinston Minor Baseball from the proceeds of the tournament.
