Andrew Jaques scored twice, including what proved to be the game-winning goal midway through the third period, to lead the Petrolia Flyers to a 4-3 win over North Middlesex.
Isaac Truman had a goal and an assist for the Flyers and Dylan Campbell had the other in a rare Friday night PJHL contest at Greenwood.
Lucas Rogers and Tobias Iantorno each had two assists. Tyler Strain made 18 saves for the win as the Flyers outshot the Stars, 39-21.
With the goals, Jaques is now tied for second place in all-time franchise scoring since the Flyers moved to Petrolia from Alvinston. He and Zach VanEyk both have 113 career points. Curtis Helps is the career leader with 140 points.
Petrolia, 4-4 on the season, will entertain Aylmer Thursday at 7:30. Petrolia travels to Mt. Brydges on Oct. 18.
Saturday Oct. 9, Iantorno scored twice and Truman had the other in a 6-3 loss to Thamesford.
