Noah Waybrant scored his first career PJHL goal in Mooretown’s 7-1 win over Lakeshore.
Landon Marcy, Dylan Dupuis, Ryan Vidler, Carson Crawford, Thomas Browning-McFeggan and Owen MacDonald also scored for the Flags. Masen Flett had three assists to eclipse the 100-point plateau in his career with Mooretown.
John Chartrand made 28 of 29 saves for the win. He was relieved late in the contest by Ethan Dunbar who stopped all three shots he faced in just over five minutes of play.
The win was a nice bounce back after Mooretown suffered a 5-2 loss in Dresden Friday.
It’s the first time since 2019 that the Flags have beaten both Essex and Lakeshore in the same regular season. Mooretown downed the 73’s, 4-2 in Essex earlier this season. The win against Lakeshore also snapped a 16-game winless streak against the Habs going back to October 2022.
The Flags, now 7-7 on the season, take on the Amherstburg Admirals at the Moore Sports Complex on Saturday. Puck drop is 7:30.
