Truman’s two goals leads Flyers to win over North Middlesex

The Petrolia Flyers never trailed in a 7-5 win over North Middlesex in PJHL action at Greenwood.

The home team had period leads of 3-0 and 4-2 on its way to victory Nov. 6.

Isaac Truman led the winners with two goals and two assists. Lucas Rogers also scored twice for the winners with Tobias Iantorno adding a goal and two assists. Jace McGrail and Joey Hayter also scored for the Flyers. Ty Moffatt and Cam Davidson each had two assists.

Theron Morningstar stopped 35 shots for the goaltending win.

Watford’s Sean Shanahan had 33 saves for the Stars in a losing cause.

A night later in Exeter, the Hawks scored twice in 13 seconds early in the third period to break open a close game in a 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Andrew Jaques, Iantorno and Truman scored for the Flyers who are now 8-6-1 on the PJHL campaign. Jace McGrail assisted on all three Petrolia goals and Ethan Flintoff had two assists.

Ben Kraft made his Petrolia debut stopping 32 of 39 shots in just under 53 minutes of action.   He was acquired from the Sarnia Legionnaires last week.  Morningstar stopped the three shots he faced in the final seven minutes.

Petrolia entertains Mt. Brydges Thursday night at Greenwood. Face off is 7:30. The Flyers take on the Trojans in Thamesford on Friday.
