“The Mooretown Jr Flags hockey community is deeply saddened by the passing of a former player following a tragic accident on New Years Eve. Steven Switzer will be remembered not only for his time on the ice, but for the spirit, teamwork, and passion he brought to the game,” wrote the hockey association on social media offering condolences to Switzer’s family and friends.

“In memory of Steven, we would like to invite any former teammates and friends of Steven’s to wear a Mooretown Jr Flags jersey to his visitation (Jan. 7) and funeral (Jan. 8).
