United Way falls just short of goal in Sarnia-Lambton

The United Way campaign in Sarnia-Lambton just fell short of its goal.
Campaign Chair Mike Edgar said $1,456,318 was raised in the 2025 campaign, about $43,000 short of the $1.5 million goal this year.
“Given the financial challenges facing many households and businesses in Sarnia-Lambton, we are deeply grateful for the support we received,” said Edgar in a news release. “Every donation represents a belief in the strength of our community and a commitment to helping neighbours who need it most.”
The money raised during the campaign is divided among charities which address food insecurity, housing, mental health supports and programs for at-risk youth and seniors living in poverty.
“Demand for services remains high, particularly as inflation and affordability challenges continue to impact our community,” said Edgar. “Although we did not quite reach our goal, the dollars raised will still make a real and meaningful difference for people throughout Sarnia-Lambton.”
Community Investment volunteers are now looking at all the funding requests to present options to the United Way’s board of directors.
“This campaign is a reminder that while challenges remain, our community continues to show compassion and resilience,” said Edgar. “Together, we are helping build a stronger Sarnia-Lambton for everyone.”
