The Petrolia Flyers are in a virtual must-win situation as they return home Thursday for game three of their best-of-seven Yeck Division quarter final with the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs. Puck drop is 7:30.

Sarnia’s JJ Fogarty scored twice as the Bulldogs grabbed a 2-0 lead in the series with a 6-5 home ice win in overtime Saturday.

Cameron Davidson scored twice for Petrolia and Ryan Nichols added a goal and an assist.

Parker Davidson and Isaac Truman also scored for the Flyers.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the second period before Petrolia fought back to tie the contest at three early in the third.

After Mt. Brydges had taken a 5-3 lead in the third period, Petrolia scored twice at 12:16 and 14:25 of the final period to sent the game to extra time.

Mt. Brydges won it at 8:12 of the fourth period.

Ethan Everaert made 36 stops in the Petrolia crease as the Bulldogs outshot the Flyers, 42-37, including 5-2 in overtime.

In the series opener in Petrolia last Thursday, the Bulldogs scored three times in less than four minutes in the first period to erase an early Petrolia lead on its way to an 8-5 win over the Flyers before 357 fans at Greenwood.

Fogarty led the winners with a hat trick and two assists.

Rhett Joy, Ryan Nichols, Joey Hayter, Lucas Rogers and Ty Moffatt scored for Petrolia.

Logan Crummy had three assists.
