Forest is showing its Hometown Spirit with a banner honouring Paralympian Tyler McGregor.
According to the Canadian Paralympic Committee, he has been fixture on the national team since 2012 collecting three world titles, Paralympic silver medals in 2018 and 2022, and a Paralympic bronze in 2014.
The Forest native’s big moments include scoring two goals in 13 seconds in the 2017 worlds final and ranking third in scoring at the 2018 Paralympic Games.
He became captain of Canada’s Para ice hockey team in 2019 and is Co-Captain of the Milano Cortina 2026 Canadian Paralympic Team.
The banner was erected last week, but the high winds Saturday tore it to pieces. Residents paid for another, stronger banner and Ontario Choice Tree Service – a Forest company – put it back up again Monday in front on the Kineto Theatre on King Street East.
McGregor and Team Canada play their first game March 7.
The Forest Legion plans a watch party to cheer McGregor on.
