The dust and the mud at the Alvinston Pro Rodeo

The population of Alvinston swelled by a couple of thousand this weekend as the Alvinston Pro Rodeo set up shop at the Brooke Alvinston Inwood Community Centre for the weekend.

Cowboys and cowgirls from all over North America came to be part of the action. And there was a big local contingent including Tyler Foster and Rod Weese, World Champions who come from Brooke-Alvinston and Watford.

Even the littlest cowgirls got into the action as Weese helped his daughter, Kennedy, around the Junior Barrel Racing course Friday night.

And there was heart stopping action during the bull riding Friday night, bottom, as bullfighter Jamie Wilkinson keeps the bull from rider Jake Magginis.

While Friday night brought lots of sunny skies for the breakaway roping, left, Sunday brought muddy conditions after heavy rains. Emma Rose from Mitchell, above contended with the mud in breakaway roping.
