Kaden Aucoin of the Sting and Sarnia’s Matt Henderson of the Kingston Frontenacs are at the Hockey Canada U18 team evaluation camp this week in advance of the Hlinka-Gretzky tournament in Edmonton next week.

Aucoin, a dual citizen, had two goals and seven points in 61 games last season as a rookie in Sarnia.

Henderson, who parents both attended LCCVI, registered three goals and 20 points in 67 regular season and playoff games in his
freshman campaign with Kingston. He also had a goal and six points in five games last season at the World U17 Challenge.

Henderson was the 17th overall pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Aucoin was an early second round selection, 26th overall.

The final roster will be announced shortly after camp breaks this weekend.

Canada opens the tournament with preliminary round games against Switzerland, Slovakia and Sweden next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The other pool includes Czechia, Finland, Germany and the United States.

The American roster includes 17-year-old Sting prospect Charlie Mineman. The right-shot defenceman from St. Louis was a seventh-round pick by Sarnia in the OHL Priority Selection in June.
