As an addition to the Windsor Selects for the Canadian U22 baseball championships, Point Edward’s Will Greer definitely made an impact with his adopted team.
He started the gold medal game against Manitoba and went 3.2 innings, scattering six hits, including two bunt
singles, striking out five and only surrendering one walk leading the Selects to the championship game shutout victory.
He then returned to his club team in Port Lambton where the Pirates won six straight games including a 12-2 win over the Innisfil Cardinals to capture the OBA U22 B title on Sunday.
Wallaceburg’s Lucas Laprise was also on the roster of both the Selects and Pirates for the championship weekend.
Greer is heading back to Montreal for his sophomore collegiate baseball season with the McGill Redbirds while Laprise begins his third season with the GOHL’s Strathroy Rockets next month.
The Pirates roster also featured past, present, and future Lambton College men’s players, including current Lions infielder Austin McCourt, 2026 recruits Brock Lane and Caleb Rosseel, along with program alumni Drew Bunda and Logan Klompstra.
