Four people want to be the next mayor of Brooke-Alvinston.
Current Mayor David Ferguson decided not to run for a third term, but there is a list of people who want the job.
Marcus Deloughery filed his papers Friday at the deadline for nominations for the Oct. 26 municipal election. He joins Jamie Armstrong, Tom Scott and current councillor Don McCabe in the election for the top job in Brooke-Alvinston.
There is also a hotly-contested councillor race with seven people vying for four seats. Incumbents Craig Sanders, Jenny Redick and Frank Nemcek are all seeking re-election. Joining them on the ballot are former councillor Wayne Deans, former candidate Greg Hillyard, Dianne MacDougall and Ian Lehrbass, who recently appeared before council when it seemed the bridge near his home on Cameron Road would close.
Brooke-Alvinston’s clerk is expected to make the candidate’s list official Monday.
