Sports Briefs: Petrolia’s Brandon to play in Cobourg

Petrolia’s Gage Brandon will play for the OJHL’s Cobourg Cougars this season after being reassigned from the Flint
Firebirds training camp.
Brandon had 12 goals and 24 points in 46 total games with Sherwood Park of the BCHL and Fort Erie of the GOHL last
season.
He was a third round pick by the Firebirds in 2024.

The Alvinston Killer Bees have re-signed four veteransfor the coming season.
The list includes goaltender Kaden Fulcher, rearguards Jamie Fraser and Steve Farlow and forward Kraig Wright.
Meantime, the 2026-27 season is less than a month away with Alvinston opening on the road against the Brant County Riverhawks on Oct. 10.
The Hawks visit Alvinston for the Bees’ home opener on Oct. 24 at 6:45 p.m.

Players from East Lambton have helped the Dresden Jr. Kings to a 2-0 start in PJHL action.
Watford’s Ryan Bork had a goal and an assist and Joey Hayter drew a pair of helpers in a 9-2 win over Walpole Island Friday in Dresden.
Watford’s Blake Verberne turned aside 38 shots to lead the Kings to a 6-4 win over the Admirals in Amherstburg Sunday.

Noal Grondin and Taylor Haley were honoured as the senior and junior-aged player of the year by the Sarnia Pacers lacrosse program Monday.
The U13 tier two coaching staff of Ryan LeNeve, Zach Snider, Lee Horner, Brian Griffith, Aaron Mallette andAshley LeNeve were chosen for the coach of the year award.
Cooper Kennedy is the referee of the year and the volunteer of the year went to Lindsay Nield.
