It is rare when the London Knights lose at home. It is even more rare when a loss is by a lopsided score. That
was the case Sunday as the Flint Firebirds scored three times on the power play and added a short-handed tally in
beating the Knights, 7-2.
London only managed 24 shots on goal and was 0-for-6 with the man advantage. It was their first loss of the young
season after four consecutive victories.
Thomas Zocco and Juho Piiparinen, with his first career OHL goal, scored for the Knights.
Dale Hunter’s crew only managed 21 shots on goal Friday but made them count in a 4-1 win over North Bay.
Marcus Nordmark notched his first career OHL marker for the winners with the others going to Jaxon Cover, Zocco and Colin Bidgood.
Alexsei Medvedev made 38 stops in the London crease.
The Knights are home to Erie on Friday night in Kitchener Tuesday.
