As Lambton prepares for freezing rain, Lambton Public Health has issued a cold alert. Environment Canada has a freezing rain warning in effect for the county with snow and ice beginning to fall this afternoon. Officials say there will be a prolonged period of freezing rain leading to significant ice build up in some areas of up to 20 millimeters.

Gibson’s hat trick leads Flyers to victory

Daniel Gibson’s first career PJHL hat trick led the Petrolia Flyers to a 6-3 win over Exeter Thursday night at Greenwood.   It was Petrolia’s largest offensive output of the season, eclipsing the previous high of five goals  in a game. Gibson, from Wyoming, is now on a three-game goal scoring streak with five tallies in his last three contests.
