Frank “The Hammer” White is the new Canada Professional Boxing Council Cruiserweight (maximum 200 lbs.) champion as a result of a unanimous decision over Sandy Pembroke of Kelowna, British Columbia in the co-main event before a sold out crowd in Moncton, New Brunswick last Saturday evening.
The 42-year-old Wyoming resident led the fight from start to finish, getting stronger as the bout progressed leading to the victory.
“He (Pembroke) was durable, but I’ve always had confidence in my ability and Saturday was no different. I was pleased with my performance,” said White, who trains with Tim Taylor at the River City Boxing Club in Sarnia.
He has now won three straight fights and in the process improved his professional record to 10 wins, seven losses and two draws.
White says he’ll fight again, but he doesn’t know when and where.
“My phone has been ringing off the hook, but I am going to take two weeks off to enjoy this victory.”
