Oil Spring getting artistic for its 150th anniversary
February 8, 2014
Oil Springs is looking for an artistic way to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the village.
It’s asking local artists and photographers to submit entries for a poster contest. Officials say the artwork, whether a photo or a painting, should depict some aspect of the founding of the oil industry in Oil Springs. They’re also asking it be a vertical colour image to fit an 11×14 poster.
The artwork, which becomes the property of the village, will be used as it promotes the anniversary of the founding of the community. The first place prize is $300, second $200 and third $100.
Artist have until May 30 at 5pm to enter. Release forms can be found on the village’s website at www.oilsprings.ca.
