The Petrolia Lion Pee Wee Reps are Ontario champions.

The team took the six-point series against Penetang with a 4-3 win over the Flames Sunday afternoon.

It was do-or-die for Penetang and they had the lead into the third. With 10:50 left, Braeden Nickles scored the Oiler’s first. Caleb Guthrie scored at about 7:40.

Then with 3:38 left in the third, Elijah Duquette scored and Nickles had the assist.

The Flames came back to make it 3-2 at 2:18 but Duquette scored again on a break-away. While the OMHA officials readied the hardware for the trophy ceremony, Penetang scored one more quick goal with 55 seconds left to bring the game to within one.

But it wasn’t enough as the Oilers held off the late attack to win the OHMA championship before a packed crowd at the Greenwood Arena.
