The Christmas season gets into full gear across the region tonight.

Victoria Park in Petrolia will be bustling. The annual Chili Cookoff starts at 5:30 pm and they’ll light the Christmas trees at 7 pm.

In Wyoming, it’s Christmas in the Village with a tree lighting ceremony at the Wyoming Library at 6pm. The kids (and adults) can visit with Santa at the fire hall and the Lions will have Christmas Trees for sale. And the Library will also have an open house.

Saturday, Santa visits Petrolia first for its 2pm parade with a Frozen theme. He’s then on to Alvinston for an evening parade through the downtown which starts at 6 pm.

Rural policing relief coming from province
