London man arrested in 2020 Kettle and Stony Point murder
Christmas comes to Petrolia
December 7, 2017
The lights went on in Victoria Park Friday night and downtown Petrolia was filled with the sounds of Christmas during the annual Santa Claus Parade.
A warm night drew out Petrolians to watch the lights go on in Victoria Park. Trenton Hyatt, 7, roasted some marshmallows over the fire kept by the Petrolia/North Enniskillen Firefighters. Rowan Waite, 3, was keeping warm with his aunt’s hat. And Clarissa Huard, 11, played Mary in the live nativity scene.
People lined Petrolia Line Saturday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the jolly old elf during the Petrolia Santa Claus Parade. Stella Geldart, 2, and her brother Taten watched as the St. Clair Marching Band went by. Laurel and Bill Parks did a little jig at the sound of the Port Huron Marching Band. There was a mad scramble by man and dog to get candy canes to a float in the parade and the Petrolia Boy Scouts showed what a Canadian Christmas looked like, paddling a canoe down the parade route.
