A Thedford man is facing an impaired driving charge after a car hit a hydro pole in Warwick Township.

Police received a call about an erratic driver on Nauvoo Road around 5:15 pm Wednesday. Before police arrived the vehicle left the road and went into the ditch and then struck a hydro pole. Then the driver fled on foot.

Lambton OPP arrived at the scene and started looking for the driver and found a man hiding behind a car on private property.

Police arrested the man and charged him with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs. He’ll be in court Aug. 13.
