One resident at Marshall Gowland Manor tests positive for COVID-19
May 15, 2020
COVID-19 has made its way into another Sarnia-Lambton nursing home.
Lambton County officials say one resident has tested positive for the virus.
Jane Joris, general manager of long term care for Lambton County, says in a news release they learned Friday evening a resident has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The families of the 127 residents have all be notified.
Joris says the resident was placed in isolation as soon as they started experiencing symptoms of illness. All residents and staff in the Home were offered testing on May 5, 2020 and no positive results were reported from that surveillance testing. “We are working closely with Lambton Public Health and following the guidance that is provided to us.”
The outbreak at MGM is the second in Lambton. Vision Nursing Home is dealing with an outbreak with 13 residents and six staff members with the virus. Three people have died there.
