Five more people at Vision test positive for COVID-19

May 20, 2020

Five more people in Lambton County have tested positive for COVID-19, all of them were at the beleaguered Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia.

Statistics from Lambton Public Health show another resident and four more staff members at the nursing home have tested positive at the home.

Fifteen residents and 14 staff members now have the virus. Four people have died in the home.

Health care workers have been living in apartments at the home to help keep the virus from spreading to their homes and the community.

Twenty-one per cent of the cases in Lambton County have been in long term care homes – 14 per cent of the cases were among health care workers.

Dr. Sudit Ranade told members of county council this morning that all long term care home residents and staff in the area have been tested for COVID-19. Out of over 1,360 tests, only five people were found to have COVID-19. Ranade says 1,426 staff were tested an only one health care worker was found to have COVID-19.
