Another Lambton fair cancels for 2020

May 21, 2020

There won’t be a Plympton-Wyoming Fall Fair in 2020.

The Board of the Plympton-Wyoming Agricultural Society has decided to cancel the event due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Board officials say they made the decision “with heavy hearts.

“This was not an easy decision to make , but it was one that was made for a variety of reasons. One being the uncertainty of when the government will begin to allow festival type events to resume.

“Sponsorship is also a large part of what helps our event run and we cannot have a successful fair without their amazing support. We cannot in good conscience ask businesses for money in these financially stressful times when many of them have been closed,” the board said in a statement.

“We felt it was the right thing to do for our the members of our community , our sponsors, donors, volunteers and our membership.”
