Teen selling T’s to beat hunger in Central Lambton
July 23, 2020
Jace McGrail’s days are usually filled with sports – hockey in the winter, baseball in the summer.
But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the Wyoming teen found he had a lot of free time.
“It obviously threw a big kink into my summer plans for sure; usually have baseball five times a week,” he says.
For a while he was disappointed, but McGrail started thinking about the people who had things a lot worse off during the pandemic. “There are bigger problems out there,” he says.
So, the teen came up with an idea to help others while letting people know how much he missed the game.
McGrail is working with Wyoming company, Sewlutions, to create shirts with the logos, Hungry for Hockey and Baseball – Striking out Hunger. They’re $20 and $10 will go to the Petrolia and Inn of Good Shepherd food banks.
“Everyone I have talked to have been very supportive,” says McGrail. “Orders have been booming – we have about 175 by now.”
McGrail will be taking orders to the end of the month. You can contact him at [email protected]
